Mode of Action:

Carbendazim is a Group a Fungicide and a member of the benzimidazole. It is a systemic fungicide used to control a wide range of fungal diseases including mould, spot, mildew, scorch, rot and blight on a wide variety of food crops, ornamentals, pomes, turf, cereals and fruits, including citrus, bananas, strawberries, pineapples. It is also used as a timber treatment.

Acute oral LD 50 for rats = 9000 mg/kg

Biochemistry:

None specific thiol reacts, inhibiting respiration.

Uses:

It controls Septoria, Fusarium, Erysiphe and Pseudocercosporella on cereal; Sclerotinia, Alternaria, and Cylindrosporium on oilseed (such ascanola, sunflower, soybean); Cercospora and Erysiphe in sugar beet, Uncinula and Botrytis in grapes, Venturia, monilia, Sclerotinia in pome and stone fruit. Also it uses as seed treatment to control Tilletia, Ustilago in cereals and fusarium in maize.
