Systemic Insecticide with Contact & Stomach Action

Mode of Action:

Dimethoate is a widely used organophosphate insecticide used to kill mites and insects systemically and on contact. It is used against a wide range of insects, including aphids, thrips, plant hoppers and whiteflies on ornamental plants, alfalfa, apples, corn, cotton, grapefruit, grapes, lemons, melons, oranges, pears, pecans, safflower, sorghum, soybeans, tangerines, tobacco, tomatoes, watermelons, wheat and other vegetables. It is also used as a residual wall spray in farm buildings for house flies.

Acute oral LD50 for rats= 387 mg/kg.

Uses:

Avoid using on stone fruit. It’s used against aphids ( Russian aphid, black bean aphid, typical green aphid) hoppers, trips and mealy bug and cotton green bug in pome fruit and cereal, maize, onion, tomatoes, potatoes, soybean, cotton , sugar beet, alfalfa, beans, grains and ornamentals at application rates of 1 L/ha. This insecticide is effective on mites too.
