Mode of Action:
Paraquat is a bipyridylium herbicide. It is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world, controlling weeds in a huge variety of crops. Paraquat is used to control weeds before and after planting in more than 100 crops, including major food crops: corn, rice, soya, wheat, potatoes; major fruits: apples, oranges, bananas; beverages: coffee, tea, cocoa; and processed crops: cotton, oil palm, sugarcane, and rubber.

Biochemistry:
During photosynthesis, superoxide is generated, which damages cell membranes and cytoplasm.
Uses:
Broad- spectrum control of broadleaf weeds and grasses in fruit orchards, cotton, sugarcane, alfalfa, clover and control general weed on non-crop land. This herbicide become inactive when contacts with soil. Avoid using it on young stem and branches. In potato cultivation use it after generating weeds at rates of 3 L/ha. In fruit, citrus and grape orchards: use it at 3-4 L/ha
