Mode of Action:
Selective contact herbicide, absorbed mainly by the foliage, with very little translocation, but also absorbed by the roots, with translocation acropetally in the xylem. Bentazon is a benzthiadiazoles herbicide. It is usually applied aerially or through contact spraying on food crops to control the spread of weeds occurring amongst food crops. This product may be used as a post emergence application to control sedges and broadleaf weeds in peanuts, corn, beans, clover grown for seed (Washington and Oregon Only), peas, rice, soybeans, sorghum, spearmint and peppermint.

Uses:
It is used in cultivation of rice, beans (particularly soya bean), cereals, peanut, peas and maize against broad leaves weeds specially shepherd’s pure, nut sedge, datura, velvet leaf, cocklebur, wild mustard, common chickweed and goosefoot. In rice field use bentazone when rice has 5-7 leaves against arrow head (Sagittaria trifolia) and water plantain (Alisma plantago). Also use it in bean and soybean field when its weeds have 2 to 4 leaves. In all kind of bean and soybean use at 2-3 L/ha and use for rice at 3 L/ha.
