Mode of Action:
Propiconazole is a triazole fungicide. It is an extremely effective fungicide. It offers a wide spectrum of control of many major pathogens of cereals (barley, corn, oats, rice, rye, and wheat), celery, peanuts, stone fruits, sugarcane, pineapple and grasses grown for seed. It controls many diseases caused by leaf spots, rust and powdery mildews. It does not control diseases caused by Oomycetes (e.g. Pythium, downy mildews).

Biochemistry:
Sterol demethylation (erosterol biosynthesis) inhibitor.
Uses:
Systemic foliar fungicide with board range of activity such as cereal rusts ( Puccinia graminis) , Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Septoria leaf blotch: (Septoria spp.); crown and root rot (Phytophtora cactorum), Fusarium rots ( Fusarium spp.), rice sheat blight (Rhizoctonia solani) and Sugarcane smut ( Ustilago scitaminea ). In rice fields use it at 1 L /ha against sheath blight.
