Mode of Action:
mancozeb is a fungicide in a subclass of carbonate pesticides. It is used to protect many fruit, nut and field crops from a wide spectrum of fungal diseases. Mancozeb is used to protect many fruit, vegetable, nut and field crops against a wide spectrum of fungal diseases, including potato blight, leaf spot, scab (on apples and pears), and rust (on roses). It is also used for seed treatment of cotton, potatoes, and corn, safflower, sorghum, peanuts, tomatoes, flax and cereal grains.

Biochemistry:
React with, and inactivates, the sulfhydryl groups of amino acids and enzymes of fungal cells, resulting in disruption of lipid metabolism. Respiration and production of ATP.
Uses:
It controls many fungal diseases such as leaf spot, rust, downy mildew, scabs, etc., in wide range of field crops, fruit, nuts, vegetables, ornamentals, etc. More frequent uses include control of cucumber and vine downy mildew, apple scab and early blight. It’s used for foliar application or as seed treatment for cereal smuts. For seed treatment against bunt: it is used at 2 kg /1000. And for fruits: it’s used at 2 kg/1000 after petal fall. This toxin is effective in control of citrus mites too, since it has Manganese and zinc partly could remove the sign of these elements reduction.
