Mode of Action:
Captan belongs to the phthalimide class of fungicides. It is Multipurpose fungicide for ornamentals and fruits and it controls damping-off, powdery mildew, botrytis blossom blight, anthracnose, rust, brown rots, early blight and late blight on different plants. Unlike fungicides, Captan has never indicated a disease resistance problem.

None specific thiol reacts, inhibiting respiration.
Uses:
Captan is common fungicide which controls wide range of fungal disease in fruit trees, fields and vegetables. It’s usually used against apple scab, black rot, shot hole and peach leaf curl in stone fruit, vine and sugar beet downy mildew, pistachio alternaria leaf spot and also it’s used as seed treatment for grains. For controlling fruit disease it is used at 3 kg/1000 L and for seed treatment it is use at 2 kg /1000 L in water
